CLSACC Adds Staff to Meet
Rising Demand for Services
CLSACC has welcomed three new staff members recently to help meet the growing need for our services. Associate Clinical Director, Mojdeh Rohani, LICSW, will work with CLSACC’s Clinical Director to recruit and manage volunteers, see clients, and supervise the interdisciplinary services social work intern. Formerly Director of Social Services at the International Institute of Boston, Ms. Rohani will also direct CLSACC’s Asylum Evaluation Project, in which volunteer clinicians perform assessments and provide expert testimony for political asylum applicants and other clients who have experienced severe trauma.
Attorneys Deirdre Giblin and Lisa Laurel Weinberg bring twenty years of combined expertise in asylum and human rights law to the immigration program. The need for legal services continues to outpace their availability, while the process of securing legal status has become longer and more complex for those who face persecution, torture, and even death if forced to return to their countries of origin. CLSACC was awarded funds by the Boston and Massachusetts Bar Foundations to add these two part-time attorneys to our immigration unit.
