Community Legal Services And Counseling Center (CLSACC) is a small, dynamic community-based agency that provides affordable mental health counseling and free legal services for low-income people throughout the Boston/Cambridge area. CLSACC seeks a part-time clinical social worker to work in its Support Program for Refugees and Immigrants. S/he will report to the Clinical Director and Associate Clinical Director

Responsibilities include:

  1. Provide psychotherapy and casework services to refugee and immigrant victims of crime.

  2. Perform assessments of clients and provide referrals as needed.

  3. Ensure that clients are aware of available services including victim compensation.

  4. Consult with legal staff about mental health issues of the Center’s immigrant legal clients.

  5. Conduct outreach to community agencies and individuals.

  6. Provide supervision to volunteer clinicians and students as needed.

  7. Assist with data collection and reporting.

  8. Provide backup and assistance to Associate Clinical Director and Clinical Director.

Qualifications/Competencies include:

  1. LICSW

  2. Bicultural/Bilingual highly desirable (especially French and/or Arabic)

  3. Experience as a clinical social worker with people with low income and with people from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

  4. Experience with case management, diagnosis, and psychotherapy.

  5. Ability to lead, motivate, encourage and work collaboratively with volunteer mental health professionals and agency staff.

  6. Ability to supervise and provide case consultation to social work students and volunteer mental health professionals.

  7. Competence in areas of mental illness, substance abuse, psychological trauma, cultural sensitivity and domestic violence.

  8. Possess familiarity with local agencies and service providers.

HOURS, SALARY, AND BENEFITS: The position is for 17.5 hours/week. Salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include vacation, personal, and sick time, 403(b) plan, training and professional development opportunities.

Community Legal Services And Counseling Center (CLSACC) (CLSACC) is a community-based agency that provides free legal services and affordable mental health counseling for low-income people throughout the Boston/Cambridge area. CLSACC seeks a well-organized, mature individual whose responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Performing regular duties of a receptionist, including answering and screening telephone calls, taking and relaying messages for volunteers, greeting and assisting clients.

  2. Collecting and recording client fees and maintaining files.

  3. Assisting staff with additional clerical work as necessary. Such work could include assisting with mailings or light filing.

  4. Opening or closing the office.

A one-hour paid training session is required before the first shift.

Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

HOURS: as needed to accommodate occasional absence of regular reception staff. Hours needed may be Monday - Friday between 9 AM and 5 PM (for at least 4 hours) or Tuesday - Thursday, 5 PM - 8:45 PM.

SALARY: $13.23/hour
