Disability Benefits

We ensure people with disabilities receive the federal benefits they need to achieve financial stability, independence, and enhanced quality of life.

De Novo assists people with disabilities in gaining access to illegally or wrongfully denied Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits. We also represent individuals currently receiving benefits who have work-related overpayments.

Eligible clients receive direct representation in negotiations with government agencies, administrative hearings and appeals in court.

In addition to a monthly cash grant, eligibility for SSI and SSDI programs provide access to MassHealth or Medicare, and priority on housing waiting lists. Clients may also obtain benefits such as utility discounts, rehabilitative and educational services, transportation vouchers, and job training.
