Get Involved

At De Novo, our most powerful asset is our legal and counseling volunteers who provide quality, compassionate services and make a real difference in people’s lives every single day.

Administrative Volunteers
Professionals of all backgrounds volunteer in administrative roles to support our legal, counseling, development, and finance operations. Volunteers regularly help with major mailings or events, perform database updates, and work with filing systems, among other areas you may have expertise. Volunteers with graphic design, photography and video editing skills are always needed.

Internships
The Legal Program trains law students in the areas of housing, disability benefits, immigration and domestic violence/family law.

The Counseling Program is a training site for social work and psychology graduate students, and post-graduate trainees.

Undergraduate students conduct legal research and translation, as well as support administrative offices with database cleanup, grant writing and office-related tasks.

Volunteering at De Novo is a great way to invest in your community. By contributing time and expertise, you can learn something new, help others, and most of all, join a vibrant network of professionals committed to equal justice and equal opportunity for all.

The success of our legal and counseling programs depends directly on the efforts of our volunteers. Every year, over 120 people from students, to practicing professionals, to retirees participate in our volunteer program.
