Counseling Volunteers

De Novo offers volunteer opportunities for psychologists, social workers, interpreters, supervising clinicians and graduate students interested in supporting the Counseling Program.

Mental health professionals from all backgrounds can support the Counseling Program. Volunteers include psychologists, social workers, professional counselors, licensed therapists and graduate students with many types of experience. The Counseling Program also benefits from volunteer interpreters, especially those who speak Spanish or French, and non-clinical volunteers who provide critical data management and office support.

Counseling volunteers participate by providing ongoing individual and couples therapy, group counseling, training and consultation, and supervision of volunteer therapists not independently licensed.

Volunteers are trained on and conduct forensic psychological evaluations for asylum seekers, VAWA and U-Visa cases, and provide in-court testimony.
